Bective Abbey Co. Meath 9-9-11

Using the knowledge that I have picked up from college I set out with the camera on full manual settings, took my exposure reading off the subject as apposed to letting the camera take one based on the brightest part of the shot, which would be the sky. The results are the castle comes up bright and the sky over exposed, which is ok as its the castle that I want bright. I love the results and am starting to understand the importance of suing the manual settings. Most of these were shot in black and white which is a big no no as you are better shooting in color and getting as much of the information and then using the settings on the computer to switch the shot to black and white later. I was shooting in B & W as thats what we are supposed to be doing with the film camera and I wanted to see what I was shooting through the live view function on the DSLR.
