Rooftops

The first six shots which were taken from the roof of Brown Thomas's car park. The rest were taken from the roof of the Central Bank on Dame St. on a beautiful sunny day. Its extremely windy up there but it was worth it for the resulting pictures. An amazing vista and I was very lucky to get permission. Cheers to Kevin my neighbor for that. I was mainly shooting on 35mm B & W film but these were taken with my Sony Alpha 55 on digital. I will post the scans of the B & W later.

This is centre to a an assignment for college, designed by Sam Stephenson it generated a lot of bad publicity but after studying it I am starting to appreciate it more. I like the way it seems to be rising from the city like an alien spacecraft. the 35mm version of this shot will be one of five images in the assignment.
The shot above reminds me of images of the rooftops of Manhattan.

The home of Rugby and football in Dublin, Lansdowne Road is a future iconic building. Amazing.

Above and below are the only such shots of the occupy Dame St. protest.

  1. Love these rooftop shots. The one looking down on Dame Street is particularly cool - an angle I haven't seen before. You should do a series of ground ones now, like, camera actually on the ground - would be cool. Actually I am going to do that. COPYRIGHT!!! :P
